If you have been using Flickr for some time then the photos should appear pretty much instantly. If you have only just joined Flickr there will be a delay of a few days while Flickr approve your account (they're just making sure you're not a spammer). The photos will appear automatically on the event's photo page - you may need to refresh your browser.
Be patient while your photos are uploaded to Flickr.
